Three things decide how a racket feels: shape, weight, and balance. Round rackets put the sweet spot in the middle for control and comfort, the easiest place to start. Teardrop rackets move the sweet spot up for a mix of power and forgiveness. Diamond rackets sit highest and hit hardest, and they ask for a faster, more precise swing in return. If you are unsure, start round; you can always add power to your game faster than you can add control.
Lighter rackets (355 to 365 g) are quicker to the ball and kinder on the arm. Heavier heads add power but tire you sooner. The face material sets the feel: fibreglass is soft and forgiving, carbon is stiffer and more responsive, and higher carbon counts (12K, 18K) add durability and pop. A rough surface finish helps the ball grip for spin. Match the racket to the arm you have today, not the player you hope to be next season.
Start with a round, lower-balance racket around 355 to 360 g. The large central sweet spot is forgiving on off-centre hits and easier on your elbow while you build technique.
Carbon faces are stiffer and more durable than fibreglass, which suits intermediate and advanced players who want more response. Newer players often prefer the softer feel of fibreglass first.
With regular play, expect one to three years. The EVA core slowly softens and the face can crack from mishits or hitting the cage, so protect the frame with a cover between sessions.
Every racket includes a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects. It does not cover cracks from impacts, which is normal wear in padel.
